The Last Ask is a new feature in SchoolAuction.net that builds on an idea that has become quite popular in recent years—getting “free” software to run your fundraiser, by giving the software platform the right to ask your guests for tips. With other platforms, your group doesn’t see those tips; they go straight to the platform, but with Last Ask - your organization keeps the tips.

The Tipping Point on Tipping

Other auction software companies don’t stop asking your donors for tips once they’ve made enough money. Long after a reasonable license fee has been collected, they keep asking. And that's very lucrative - for them.

But for your organization? When asked to, your generous supporters will tip, thinking that they are helping you out. They may even count this as part of their annual contribution to your cause. But those “extra” tips aren’t helping put books in the library, or cure diseases, or save endangered animals - they keep going to the platform. They aren’t even tax-deductible for your donors!

What if, rather than sending that money to the software company, it went to your cause instead?

That is the idea behind The Last Ask. You ask for tips to help cover the expenses of the fundraiser. Your supporters can select one of the suggested % tip levels you've chosen, specify their own amount, or opt out.

But 100% of Last Ask Tips go to your organization. Once you’ve covered your expenses, the excess tips go to your general fund.
